About JewishBabysitter.com

A small, family-run website for Jewish families in Phoenix and Scottsdale: private, referral-based babysitting, plus free guides for every family.

JewishBabysitter.com is a small, family-run website for Jewish families in Phoenix and Scottsdale. It does two things: it helps local families request babysitting and pet care through a private, parent-managed process, and it publishes free guides and printables for any family preparing for a sitter.

Who runs this website

JewishBabysitter.com is published by K.R. through The Wizard Of Sales, LLC, a small Arizona business. K.R. writes and edits the guides on this site. We keep personal names, photographs and schedules off the website on purpose; it's the same privacy rule we apply to our babysitters.

How the babysitting service works

Requests are reviewed personally by the babysitter's parent. New families provide a community connection (a synagogue, rabbi, Jewish school, mutual acquaintance or community family) before a first visit is confirmed. Our sitters are CPR and First Aid certified and experienced with children and household pets. Exact addresses, availability, rates and payment are arranged privately, only after a request has been reviewed. The request form on our homepage simply prepares an email in your own email program; nothing is stored on this website.

The service is local and small. If you live outside Phoenix and Scottsdale, or need full-time care, our guides on finding a babysitter and backup child care are a good place to start.

Why we publish the guides

Most babysitting advice online is written for a general audience. Jewish families in the Valley have a few extra things to explain: Shabbat and holiday routines, kosher kitchens, and, in Arizona, pools and extreme heat. Our guides are practical checklists written from a parent's point of view, and our printables (the handoff sheet, the Shabbat and kosher kitchen cards and the heat and pool quick card) run in your browser without saving what you type.

How we write and update guides

  • Safety guidance links to public sources such as the CDC, Maricopa County, the City of Phoenix Fire Department and the National Fire Protection Association. Sources are listed at the end of each newer guide.
  • Rates and dates are labeled with when they were checked, and we update them when they change.
  • We are not doctors, lawyers or child-care regulators. Our guides are general information and never replace emergency services, your pediatrician or professional advice.
  • Found a mistake? Email us and we'll correct it.

Advertising

The website is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense and a clearly labeled banner placement. Ads are kept separate from the guides, and advertisers have no say in what we write. See our privacy policy for details on cookies and analytics.
